How to enable the custom comments field in supplier profile under Income Tax Field

I hope you're well.

We are currently working on a business requirement that involves capturing user comments within the Income Tax section of the Supplier Profile. These comments are intended to support an internal approval process and help track reasons for incomplete tax-related information (e.g., Taxpayer ID, Federal Reportable, State Reportable).

We attempted to add a custom text field using Sandbox personalization; however, the Income Tax region does not appear to support field injection or extension. Additionally, we were unable to locate any Descriptive Flexfields (DFFs) available in this section.

Could you please advise whether it is technically feasible to add a custom field in the Income Tax section of the Supplier Profile? If not, are there any supported alternatives or recommended approaches to achieve similar functionality?
