How does the interlocation shipping methods work?

Summary:

I am using FBDI Templates to upload data into the system and in interlocation shipping method template i have given 24 HRS to transfer item from one inventory org to other using origin and destination type as IE(Internal location).
But in the plan outcome,the origin org component item being manufactured 20 days prior to demand day is being transferred to to destination org 1 day after the demand day and giving late supply exception.
