How to use same characteristic in quality management which is already live in production?

Dear Experts,

Seeking your advice for the below query.

  1. We are implementing for our business which has 2 BUs.
  2. For 1st BU, which is already live, is already using an inspection characteristic 'CaO' with precision '2' and it is in use for transaction with Inspection Plan.
  3. Now requirement came to use the same Inspection Characteristic 'CaO' with precision 3.
  4. We cannot modify the Characteristic name as it is being used in Certificate of Analysis.

Requesting your help on the above matter on urgent basis.
