In Review Cost Accounting Distributions, why is there no Cost Information for COGS Recognition?

In the Review Cost Accounting Distributions task for COGS Recognition Transaction Types, the Cost Information tab is blank with "No data to display." However, the costing status is fully costed, and the accounting status is draft accounted. So, I see the correct accounting distributions and journal entries being generated for the COGS Recognition Transaction Type, but the Cost Information tab is still blank.

It seems that this is standard behavior and COGS Recognition transactions will not generate data in the Cost Information tab in Review Cost Accounting Distributions - View Details, but what is the logic/reasoning behind this?
