Redwood Absences: unable to restrict Absence Plan Administration access for Timekeeper
Summary:
During testing of the Redwood Absences and Entitlements page in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, we identified a critical limitation impacting our ability to adopt the new experience.
We have a tailored role called Time Keeper, designed to support managers by:
Adding, submitting, and withdrawing absences on behalf of employees
Viewing absence balances
Not administering absence plans (e.g., creating or deleting plans)
In the classic UI, we met this requirement using:
A custom Absence Data Role
Sandbox personalization's to hide or restrict sensitive actions
However, in Redwood:
The VBCS-based Absences and Entitlements page offers limited control over UI actions based on role permissions
