Approvals Process

Summary: What is the impact on the approvals process of changes to the entity hierarchy? What happens to an approval in a historical period if an entity is promoted (but not locked) but then the parent.child relationship changes? What if a shared parent is promoted (but not locked) and the configuration of the descendant entities change?

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information): We have three entity hierarchies. One of the alternate hierarchies is used for process management in HFM. We want to replicate this in FCCS. In HFM the data is promoted to Review Level X - thus rendering it as read only to the users. (Data is not promoted to published nor locked). After an entity hierarchy change (the entity structure changes almost every month), we consolidate all historical data.
