Nudges - Behavior When Using the Transaction Card Channel – Unexpected but Important UX Insight

Summary:

I wanted to share a finding from recent testing that may help others working with nudges in Oracle HCM, especially when using the Transaction Card channel.

What I Was Testing

I was validating a nudge designed to prompt managers to add a check-in agenda topic when a team member has no goals in their plan. The nudge was configured to use the Transaction Card channel, with the recipient as Other.

What I Discovered

The nudge does not appear only during the relevant flow (e.g. creating or viewing a check-in or viewing goals). Instead, it appeared for the team member contextually while they're performing any transaction - even if its unrelated. For example, this team member was updating another employee's seniority dates and it caused confusion as to why it appeared.
