How do I separate person number generation for employee and employee contacts in Oracle Fusion HCM ?

Dear All,

There is a request from the client to not include dependents / employee contacts in the automatic person number generation. Currently, if an employee has a person number - 1234, then his dependent is showing as 1235. This is creating a gap in the person number that needs to be allocated to the next employee. How do I tackle this - through configuration or else what is the detailed solution for customization?
