how to change assignment number generation sequence from '-2' to '-1'

Summary:

Currently when we add assignment on an existing employee, the new assignment number starts with '-2' e.g. 'E2313-2'.

Is there any way to change this default setup of assignment number generating from '-2' to '-1' so that whenever a new assignment is created it will start with '-1' and continue from there.
