Datetracked Job Family Updates

Summary:

When a Job Family is created (25C+) the Job Family Code is auto-populated from the Name.

When the Job Family Name and Code are Updated (i.e. as a datetracked change), the Name is updated from the effective date, but the Code is corrected ahistorically (i.e. applied retrospectively to all datetracked records), is this expected behaviour/by design?
