End Date Status Processing Rules & Formula results under Status Processing Rules using HDL file

We’re currently working on introducing a new Oracle Payroll fast formula that will replace the existing fast formula attached to more than 100 payroll elements. As part of this change, we need to end date the existing Status Processing Rules (SPR) and then create new SPR records using the new fast formula.

Our approach was to first end date the formula result rules (child records), followed by end dating the SPR (parent record). To achieve this, we attempted to use HDL by supplying an EffectiveEndDate, assuming the system would simply update the existing record.

However, instead of end dating the current effective-dated row, the system is creating a new effective-dated record. For example, we have an SPR with an EffectiveStartDate of 01-Jan-1951 and no end date. When we try to end date this record to 30-Sep-2025 via HDL—so that we can add the new formula and its result rules effective 01-Oct-2025—HDL automatically splits the record into two:

Howdy, Stranger!
