How to Ship Confirm a sales order with the previous month's Actual Ship Date?

We would like to ship confirm sales orders that have a scheduled ship date in the previous month. The previous month period is still open. Is it possible to have the Actual Ship Date on the sales order line reflect a date from the previous month?
