How to use select source line for merge from thousands of lines

Hi,

We are curious to know below about merge functionality in fixed assets oracle fusion:

Merge functionality works by selecting lines on the UI and let's say there are two lines from different invoices>

Line 1> invoice 1

Line1>Invoice 2

and user wants to merge both these lines. Now the issue is we have approx 5-10k lines pending in the Additions infotile. How do a user search and select these two lines from different invoices since if we use the filter on screen>system doesn't select the other line (have trying selecting the line by clicking control button and then search the next line by using filters, but system doesn't select both the lines even after clicking on Control button)
