Need Clarification on BOM Structure Report Not Matching Work Order Effective Components

Summary:

I have created a custom report that displays the BOM structure for a Work Order. The business requirement is that the report should show the components that were effective on the Work Order creation date (i.e., BOM as-of date logic).

However, when we run the report for a Work Order, the component count does not match what the business expects. It appears the report is not picking the correct components based on effectivity/revision dates or alternate BOM selection.

I would like to understand how to correctly derive the BOM that was effective on the Work Order date
