Using Substitute Component in Unconstrained plan with Firm Components Option

Summary:

We have an option to choose Substitute Component for Planned Order in Unconstrained Plan using "Firm Components" option. This process is working fine but have two questions, Please suggest on this.

  1. Every time we choose alternate component using "Firm Component" Option, we need to run the Plan with "Do Not Refresh with Current Data" Option before Releasing it, in order for component to appear in Work Order. This is overhead for Planners, so any way to avoid this additional step of Running Plan?
  2. Firm Component option actually Firming the Planned Order (Work Order) and it is not allowing for Plan to suggest Reschedule for next run of plan. Our need is only to choose substitute component but not Firming the Order. Any way to prevent the order to create the WO without Firming it?
