How to setup absence plans for a leave that starts at end of an year and continues to next year

edited Dec 9, 2025 4:33PM in Workforce Management

As per business requirement, we are looking at ways to setup absence plans where a leave starts at end of a year and continues to next year. And such leaves get deducted from previous year's leave balance.

Example: Balance as of 31-Dec-2025 = 25 days

The employee applies for leave from 25-Dec-2025 to 16-Jan-2026 = 17 working days (excluding Saturday and Sunday)

Current behavior: 25-Dec to 31-Dec = 5 days are deducted from 2025 balance and balance left as of 31-Dec-2025 is 20 days. 10 days are carried forward as per carryforward setup and 10 days are forfeited. January leave days are deducted from next year's leave plan.

Business Requirement: All 17 days leave should be deducted from 25 days which employee had before applying for leave and remaining balance 8 days (25 - 17) should be carried forward to next year.

Howdy, Stranger!
