Is It Possible to Trigger an Item Rule Without Updating the Item?

Summary:

We have a requirement for one of our EFF attributes to automatically update to “N” once the date captured in another EFF attribute passes the current date. We configured an item rule for this logic.
However, the attribute does not update automatically—the change only happens if there is a manual item update. This causes significant manual effort and operational delays. We are looking to understand if this is expected Oracle Cloud behavior, if additional configuration or automation is required, or if there’s a recommended workaround to ensure the EFF is updated automatically based on date criteria without manual intervention.
