Need remaining life or custom formula for current date - in-service date for FA retirement approval

Summary:

The current asset approval template does not have the remaining life attribute which we need for expensed assets since the fully reserved attribute does not apply. Another alternative we can accept is a formula for months between current date and in-service date > (number of months we define). How do we achieve this in the asset approval simplified rule configuration (SRC) template?
