Opportunity Updated as Business Event Trigger in one of my integrations using CX Sales adapter.

Summary:

I am using Opportunity Updated as Business Event Trigger in one of my integrations using CX Sales adapter. The expectation is to get the integration triggered once when one update is performed on the opportunity (status changed from Open to Ready for Payment) and saved. But the integration is getting triggered multiple times (2/3 times), leading to duplicate account creation in finance.

Is there a way to fix this or a workaround to get the integration triggered only once instead of multiple times?
