Coexistence of Oracle Project Management and MS Project for Execution Scheduling

edited Dec 15, 2025 10:49PM in Project Management

Summary:

To support project governance, we need to manage project gates, issues, and controls within a project management system—hence, Project Management must be implemented in Oracle. On top of that, we want to continue using Microsoft Project for detailed execution planning, including task sequencing, schedules, and dependencies and want Orale Project tables to be saved and updated for the execution tasks and dates.

While Oracle typically expects a single scheduling tool—either Oracle Project Management or MS Project—the question is why both cannot coexist. Why can’t MS Project remain the system of record for detailed schedules, tasks, and dates, with those updates synchronized into Oracle?

Howdy, Stranger!
