What is the recommended practice for migrating historical data?

We have migrated to Oracle HCM 1 year of data. We are now looking to archive the legacy SAP HCM systems, keeping the data still available for our HR teams, but naturally not equally accessible (there will be set of reports) as it is in the operational systems. Our HR teams are very much concerned that data older than 2-3 years (1 year migrated + 1-2 years already in Oracle HCM) of active employees’ will be in the archived system, and while still accessible, not in same way as it would be in operational systems.

 

Would you have an insight if any other client having moved to Oracle HCM is in similar situation? How much of historic data do other clients migrate and do they keep legacy HCM systems active or also proceed with archiving, even if it holds data of active employees?
