Is there any problem with leaving unused physical inventory tags?

I'm currently verifying the operation of physical inventory.
I've progressed to recording physical inventory tags, but is it possible to create a different physical inventory tag without using the one I created?
In other words, is it possible to create a tag linked to a different physical inventory data for the same item while there are unused tags?
I can't find a way to delete tags, so I'd like to know more about the physical inventory function in case a tag is created with incorrect information.
