Need to configure New item request based on item class

Need to configure New item request based on item class
Item created using the X item class need to go for approval 'A' person
Item created using the Y item Class need to go for Approval 'B' person
now i have tried to configure it in BPM on Task NewItemRequestApprovalTask with rule but its not picking the rule can somebody please guide me in this
