Model After Challenge

Is anyone else experiencing an issue when using the Model After functionality within a viewpoint to create a new node modeled after another one (to save time with setting property values and shared instances) where EDM defines a derived non-editable property in the request?

I've experienced this several times and since the property is non-editable, I cannot simply clear the value. I've worked around it by downloading the request, deleting the field, and reloading the request items. If a property is derived and non-editable, EDM should not even attempt to define the value.
