'Populate Item Classification History' does not work in case of CSV upload in GTM. Any workaround?

I have tried mass updating classification codes using CSV. It updates, but it does not store the history as it does when updated from UI. Any workaround?

UI update results in below behavior. CSV upload does nothing to the history table.
