begbalance is not getting calculated correctly when doing project to date in custom planning

Summary:

In our custom planning app, we let users input periodic and use calc scripts to calculate year-to-date and project-to-date for revenue and cost accounts. We achieved it using beg balance to be updated with dec previous year balance and calculate project-to-date in data value dimension. Script was working fine, however now see that project-to-date calc is incorrect as the begbalance is getting updated with previous year december "year-to-date" rather than "Project-to-date" causing issues. I understand now that begbalance is now to be calculated based on periodic numbers rather than year-to-date. But custom planning should not have any issues. Please let
