Automatic Item Numbering by Item Class vs Manual Override

Summary:

In Oracle Fusion Item Management, I have configured automatic item numbering at Item Class level (using Sequence-Generated).

However, once automatic numbering is enabled, the Item Number field becomes non-editable, and the system does not allow any manual override or adjustment during item creation.

Based on the documentation, manual entry seems to be allowed only when User-Defined number generation is selected.But in our business scenario, we need:

• Automatic numbering by Item Class as the default
• Occasional manual editing or override for specific items
