Unable to add two exceptions to a resource on the same day in oracle fusion

Summary:

We are trying to add two exceptions for a resource which has shift hours 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The first exception starts by 6:01 PM to 8:00 PM which is allowed to create. We attempted to create another exception for the mrng from 7:00 AM to 8:59AM, which was restricted by oracle saying an exception already exists for this resource. Please suggest a way to handle this scenario.
