Changing consolidation method from sub to equity for a parent

Summary:

to change the a parent group which is currently at 51% sub to 50% equity. when we do this, the calculations seems way off than expected.

is this possible by changing a rule, creating new rule, we tried and we dont want to go through the route of changing all base entities under that group.
