BOM Hierarchy Flattening/Rebuild: Missing ParentID in BOM Item Instances

We have Bill of Materials (BOM) setup enabled, with support for up to four hierarchy levels (and the ability to extend this as needed). We’ve configured a table-based BOM mapping rule to create the initial BOM item instances, followed by an advanced BOM mapping rule to process those instances for pricing and other attributes.

Our plan was to use ConvertBOMToFlat function to flatten the hierarchy, process the flattened BOM, and then rebuild the hierarchy using ConvertBOMToHier function.

However, it appears that ParentID is a required parameter for these conversions, and we are not receiving ParentID in our BOM item instances. Are we missing any step or setup that should be generating/including ParentID?
