Clarification on Work Shifts (Time Elapsed vs Duration) and Their Usage with Absence
Can someone please explain the difference between Time Elapsed Work Shifts and Duration Work Shifts in Oracle HCM?
I would like to understand:
- At what business requirements we should use Time Elapsed shifts versus Duration shifts
- How Work Shifts are linked between OTL (Time and Labor) and Absence Management
- In which real-time scenarios each type of shift is commonly used (with examples)
Additionally, if anyone has any official Oracle documentation or reference links explaining the integration of Work Shifts across OTL and Absence modules, please share.
