Invoice Format to include purchase order

Summary:

We have event based billing and invoice line should have the event description. We also need to store the purchase order on the contract line. However we get the below error message

The invoice format attached to the bill plan isn't grouped by contract line and the contract line is either item based or has a purchase order number.

How can we use both event description for invoice line description and purchase order on contract line.
