Is it possible to add new UI components (Button/Link) to Oracle delivered Redwood pages using VBS

Summary:

We are exploring UI extensibility options for Oracle delivered Redwood pages using VB Studio / VBCS. So far, what we are able to do on most Redwood pages is:

  • Configure existing fields and regions using Form Rules
  • Configure table columns using Collection Rules
  • Show/Hide or make fields read-only
  • Reorder or conditionally display existing regions

We also explored Advanced Mode in VB Studio, but could not find any option to add new UI components such as:

  • A custom Button
  • A Link / Action
  • Any new UI control not already present on the delivered page

Ask:

  1. Is it supported to add new components (e.g., Button or Link)
