How to effectively use customerForSalesOrders REST API for Ecommerce orders?

Summary:
Currently we are using Oracle SOAP service for order import and we use CreateCustomerInformationFlag to dynamically create customer for our Ecommerce orders.
Now we are planning to switch to REST API for Order import but there this provision is not there. Hence we will be calling the new customerForSalesOrders API to create customer before doing the Order import.

The problem which we are facing using the new customerForSalesOrders is that -
- If the customer name is already existing then the new API works fine by picking up the existing customer and adding new site under that party-account combination.
