Creating Alternate hierarchies/views in Data Source Hierarchies in FCCS

For Reporting purpose, we would like to create data source members in a separate view/alternate hierarchy.

We were able to create alternate hierarchy outside FCCS_Total Data Source & shared FCCS & Non-FCCS data sources with different roll-up & it didn't give any validation errors or anything, but would like to know what is oracle's recommendation?

Admin guide lists only about limitation on sharing No Data Source member, but doesn't explicitly say anything. Please let us know if there are any problems with this.
