Position Attributes Not Updating When Job Is Changed – Options for Defaulting/Validation?

We're running into an issue with attribute inheritance between Jobs and Positions and would appreciate any insights or shared experiences.

Setup: Our client uses both Jobs and Positions. Several attributes are shared between the two objects, with the Position inheriting values from the assigned Job - for example, Grade Ladder, Working Hours, and Flexfields. Positions are often adjusted using the Promote and Change Position flow (as it involves position adjustments, too).

Issue: When the Job on a Position is changed, the inherited attributes (e.g., Grade Ladder) do not automatically update to reflect the new Job's values. We would like to achieve that these attributes either default to the new Job's values or at least be validated against them.
