How to handle "push" supply between two organizations
Summary:
We have a common scenario where a Manufacturing Plant transfers 100% of its output to a close-by Distribution Center. In those cases, Transfer Orders are not created in advance, but "on the fly", as truck loads are picked and moved. We do schedule work orders in the source manufacturing location, though.
Is there a way to let Supply Planning know that no TO's are created here, but everything produced at the plant will be sent to the DC? We keep no inventory at the plant either.
We understand Assignment Sets and Sourcing Rules will define the flow, and Safety Stocks should also be aligned to the scenario, but in terms of visualizing supply and demand, identifying shortages and trigger actions, we would like to understand how this can be better managed, as from a Supply Planning perspective everything is a "Pull" strategy, customers and deliver to locations trigger the demand all the time.
