We want to make you aware of a timing risk associated with upcoming U.S. Department of Education (ED) processing changes for the 2026–27 award year related to the One Big Beautiful Bill. ED is discussing an accelerated April 26, 2026 go‑live for COD, NSLDS, and FPS 2026–27 updates, while final 2026–27 FAFSA, NSLDS, and COD specifications are still pending (as of 2/20/2026).

Given the combination of an accelerated timeline and pending final specifications, we recommend taking precautionary steps now to reduce the risk of corrupted files, unexpected format changes, or processing instability around the cutover date.
