Absence type is- plan term calendar year but is not renewing the max duration for next year

Summary:

I have a Absence type defined as plan term calendar year but its not renewing the max duration for next year. We also have a validation ff to check that max leave do not cross 5days. Any help would be appreciated to find out why the absence is not renewing and giving another 5 days absence for next year
