Security behavior for Shared Entity Hierarchy in FCC

Summary:

We have a requirement to provision Entity security only through an alternate Entity hierarchy in Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS).

Application Design

  • Entity dimension contains:
    • primary hierarchy (standard legal structure)
    • One alternate hierarchy (Responsibility rollup)
  • The alternate hierarchy is built using shared Entity members
  • No security is assigned on the primary hierarchy
  • Security is assigned only at parent level within the alternate hierarchy
  • No explicit security is assigned at level-0 base members in the primary hierarchy

Users are unable to see the Entity members in data forms based on above set-up. But when security is assigned to one of the members in the primary hierarchy, the data form is opening up for the user and they're able to access the members (from the alternate hierarchy as well). Is this expected behavior? Does FCCS evaluate Entity security strictly based on the
