Specialization Not Recognizing Prior Completion After Offering Definition Update

Summary:

Hi everyone,

We are seeing unexpected behavior with a specialization in Oracle Learning, and I’m hoping to confirm whether this is expected.

Scenario

  • A learner completed a Course in December 2023.
  • In 2025, we updated the course offering definition
  • This course is also part of a specialization, which was assigned to the learner after the offering definition was changed.

Behavior Observed

  • The specialization DOES NOT recognize that the learner completed the course historically, even though they did
  • The specialization remains locked because it expects completion of the current version (we think), not the older activity definition.

Questions

  1. Is this expected behavior when an offering definition (SCORM activity) is updated after the learner’s original completion?
