Controlling Shipment Number Creation When Order is Allocated Across Subinventories

edited 6:52PM in Inventory Management 1 comment

Summary:

Need separate shipment number for sales order allocated from different subinventories

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

We perform reservation before shipment, and only the reserved sales order lines are eligible for shipment. When a sales order is allocated from different subinventories within the same organization, each subinventory allocation should result in a separate shipment number.

For example, consider a sales order with four lines: two lines allocated from Subinventory A and two lines allocated from Subinventory B. In this case, two separate shipments are required.

We attempted to use Pick Release Grouping Rules. Although this creates separate picks, the system still generates a single shipment number. The shipment number is created during pick release, and the Pick Release Rule has the Create Shipment option enabled.
