Source Data Type error for Data Source hierarchy custom member - if outside FCCS_Total Data Source hierarchy.

So, the customer wants a new data source that allows smart view data input. To allow this I need to make Source Data type = 'Data Entry'

However this hits a Metadata Validation error UNLESS I make the member in question under the FCCS_Total Data Source hierarchy.

Is there a way around this, so I can have the data source under a different hierarchy?
