Is there a way parent can be consumed in a work order and flushed out from inventory?

Summary:

Discrete Manufacturing use case:

We want to de-kit the parent item into multiple component items and deplete on hand of the parent item

We tried to use re-work work order however, the on hand quantity for the parent is still intact

We passed required quantity as -1 for all components (as shown below) so that on hand for the components get increased (this is reflecting properly)

Is there a way we can consume the parent in the work order and flush out from inventory?

Through Re-work/Transform/Non-Standard Work Order?
