Is there a way to change the frequency of days for the confirm receipt notification to trigger?

Currently, the Confirm Receipts workflow sends notifications for items with a need-by date that's equal to or later than today's date, so the frequency is one day after the need-by date to trigger the notification. Is there a way to change the frequency to be like 3 days after the need-by date to trigger the notification?
