26A why do learning catalog hover cards sometimes display views and sometimes display learners
Summary:
We would like to understand what creates the difference between learning catalog item hover cards sometimes displaying the number of views and other ones displaying the number of learners. My customer is querying whether it is a bug but as I cannot find any documentation that explains it, and I've only seen @Jamie Rancourt-Oracle's comments on another post saying what views are, I cannot dispute it without more info.

“views are calculated exactly as you’d think, just like they are on these posts in the forums. Anytime the course catalog details page is loaded, a view is captured. This has been happening for quite a long time, the hover card is simply now presenting that as a means to convey interest in the item. It’s also visible to admins in their catalog search page so they can see and sort by views.”
