Once the forecast is zero, our daily generate revenue process is not recognizing remaining revenue

Currently for Fixed Price projects, the forecast isn't updated to $0 until after Project end date for many projects. Once the forecast is zero, our daily generate revenue process is not recognizing remaining revenue on these projects because the completion date entered in the system is past the project end date. I am currently generating revenue on each individual project with a completion date backdated to the project's end date. Is there a faster way to do this to scale?
