To have FG itemsetup as Make and also have sourcing rule for planning, so that component has demand

Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of):

Doyensys

Description (Required):

We have a scenario where, for certain items, we supply components to a vendor, who then manufactures the finished goods (FG) and returns them to us. To support this, we have configured the FG item as Make and also defined a sourcing rule.

However, based on Oracle Supply Planning’s standard functionality, FG planned orders not generating dependent demand for components because a buy sourcing rule exists for the FG item. When such a rule is present, the planning engine prioritizes buying the item over manufacturing, so it does not check for the primary work definition or item structure to explode components, even if the item is set up as make.
