Oracle absence Defer enrollment for few employees

We are looking for solution to defer enrollment from an accrual based Absence plan of few employees (around 100+) from the newly acquired(acquisition of a new company) employees who have been loaded against a specific department. We need to enroll them back to the plan again in June.
We tried excluding the dept name from the eligibility-profile but its not working. Pl let know how do we handle this scenario
