Refreshing data directly from a Power Point in Narrative Reporting

Which is the most efficient way to proceed when refreshing data. Most of our users, only enter to smart view to work on the doclets, and it would be nice if data can be refreshed from there.

We are using sustitution variables in our reports referenced doclets that we have in report packages (Power Point report package). We have connected our data base from PBCS to Narrative Reporting. It is possible to refresh data base directly from the Power Point, clicking the option of refresh? Or we have to do it from the NR center.
